Looking for a way to build student interest in STEM? Uninspiring introductory courses are a leading reason students steer clear of STEM. This course in effect is a collision of art, engineering and math, highlighting how art is central to bring beauty, elegance, and life to the STEM field by opening student’s eyes to a world of patterns, shapes, and artistic designs using 3D modeling. Spatial visual thinking is three-dimensional perception that involves analysis, pattern recognition, & problem solving; skills which form the foundation for many disciplines & play a direct role in determining a student's career choice. Researchers continue to highlight the connection between early spatial skills and creativity, along with the consensus that spatial ability is a must for those hoping to excel in the STEM fields. www.GearupU.com

Everyone comes to 3D in different ways. Some were inspired by games as children and wanted to get into the gaming industry. Others started with motion-design and 3D animation, and then added modeling to their list of skills, by the way, tutorial such as this one https://3dskillup.com helps a lot. And some just made models "for the soul", filling their hands.
