The Clean Tech Competition can be approached from any discipline, and is also a great way to work Project Based Learning into your classroom! By challenging students to identify and solve a specific problem, students are immersing themselves in a real-world issue they want to fix. I am sure we can agree students excel when they are excited about what they are learning! By allowing them to be the guiding force of the path their work takes, they are experiencing real world challenges and solutions.
We are here to help! On our website is a guide on how to work the challenge into your classroom to make the process as seamless as possible! We also have an assessment rubric to help both you and your students create a project that goes beyond superficial and becomes truly impactful.

Student contestants work in teams of 1-3 to perform their research, write a 5-15 page paper for online submission, and have an adult Team Leader ensure they follow all rules and regulations pertaining to their work. The project can be an all original design, or an improvement upon an existing one as long as that fact is acknowledged. Submitted papers are judged by an international jury of professors, researchers, and industry professionals, whose scores determine the top teams in each of the two categories. Please check out the website for full rules and restrictions, or email the contact above with any questions.
