The Air Traffic activity challenges learners to communicate directions to direct "pilots" across a floor obstacle course to get to their destination.

Air Traffic: What does an air traffic controller do?

Objective: Understand the importance of team work and clear communication

Scenario and Task: Today you are an air traffic controller or a pilot. Together you will design a system that uses clear and specific directions to move safely from one destination to another.

AeroEducate K-2 Activities are developed for younger learners to investigate aerodynamics topics such as drag, lift, or Bernoulli’s Principle. Designed in a 5-E lesson format, each activity begins with an essential question, incorporates a career component through a real-world scenario, and introduces age-appropriate vocabulary. Background information for the facilitator is included. Posters that illustrate key concepts associated with the lesson can be printed or viewed electronically. Templates are included as needed.

Full access to the activity and supporting resources is provided once free registration to the AeroEducate website is completed.
