The EngineerGirl website is designed to bring national attention to the exciting opportunities that engineering represents for girls and women.
The site was launched in 2001 and redesigned 2012 with input from girls around the country. The site includes student-friendly career descriptions linked to stories, female engineer role models, and other resources. The site sponsors an annual essay content that challenges students to consider engineering and its contributions to society.
One popular feature on the site is an "Ask an Engineer" section which allows students and young women to seek advice about engineering careers and how to prepare for them. Another popular feature is the Features a directory of female engineers working in many different fields.
This site is maintained by the National Academy of Engineering
