    How do I join LinkEngineering?
    A
    Joining is simple. Click on the “Join LinkEngineering” link at the top of any page. Establish a user account by entering your name and email address. You will be prompted to establish a user profile, where you can provide information about your institution, a bio, and a picture. You can also sign-in using a Facebook or Google account.

    How do I edit my profile?
    A

    To begin, click on "Edit Profile". There are several tabs where you can add or edit information.

    • Personal Info
      Change your preferred name, your organization, your bio, and your interests.
    • Contact Info
      Add or update your address, phone number, email address, and social media links. You can change the privacy level for any field by clicking "Change Privacy" next to the heading.
    • Profile Photos
      Click on the “edit” button (looks like a pencil) and follow the directions to upload your profile picture and banner.
    • Account Settings
      Change your password

    Always click on “Update” after you edit a field. When you have finished all your changes, click on “Back to View Profile.”

    How do I ask an Expert or other Community Member a question?
    A
    Login to LinkEngineering and visit the profile page of the person you want to ask a question. Click the "Ask a Question" button on the right and type your question in the "Ask a Question" box that appears below and submit.

    What does it mean when something has been "LE Vetted"?
    A

    LE Vetted Logo.pngA small number of resources on the LinkEngineering site have been reviewed by the LinkEngineering Committee and determined to be of particularly high value to the implementation of PreK-12 engineering education.  These resources are tagged as “LE Vetted” with a special badge.

    Resources are selected for review by LinkEngineering staff based on an initial assessment of their potential value to the community.  The committee uses a multi-step process to vet resources.  LinkEngineering members can submit suggestions of specific resources to be reviewed.

    How do I post a resource?
    A

    You can post a resource on the Find & Add resources page.

    1. Click the "Add Resource" tab just below the introduction.
    2. Click the icon that describes the type of resource that you want to share with the community.
    3. Provide a short, unique title. When you click in the Title field, the rest of the form will appear.
    4. Add a description that summarizes the potential use or value of the resource.
    5. Use the buttons above the title to add an image or a file. (You may add more than one file to some types of resources.
    6. Use the Main Content area to provide additional details, such has how you have used the resource, what organization maintains the resource, and potential issues that others may encounter when using the resource. For example, it is useful to notify members if the article that you are sharing is available only to journal subscribers. You can click on the "+" button next to one of the available templates for guidance on what to include.
    7. Select one or more categories that apply to your resource.
    8. Click "Post".

    The resource will appear at the top of the Find & Add resources list AND under the Resources tab of your personal profile.

    How does someone become a LinkEngineering Expert?
    A

    badge-expert.png LinkEngineering Experts are selected by the project committee and have specialized knowledge and expertise related to some aspect of PreK-12 engineering education. They have agreed to answer certain community questions, conduct occasional webinars, and serve as informal advisors to the project. LinkEngineering Experts are identified by the red “Expert” badge on their picture and profile.

    How do I review and rate resources?
    A
    To rate any resource, click on the link to that resource. On the resource page, you can comment on the resource, provide a rating (stars), and see how others have rated it. You need to give your rating a title in order to submit.
