Engineering Design Resources

LinkEngineering community members are developing this collection of resources that help educators, parents, and the general public better understand engineering design, how it differs from science, and how it related to PreK-12 engineering experiences.

This collection is focused on the theory and general practice of engineering design. Some examples of resources include:

  • An article on the nature of engineering design
  • A link to a video that describes one or more elements of the design process
  • A rubric for assessing understanding of the engineering design process

Specific lesson plans and resources on engineering in general can be found elsewhere on this site.

Some of these resources have been reviewed by LinkEngineering experts and judged to be of high value to people interested in PreK-12 engineering education. These are distinguished with an “LE Vetted” badge.
