Jackie Gish, Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems asked Lyle Tavernier, Jet Propulsion Laboratory PostedTuesday, August 8, 2017 at 9:07 PM Lyle, Welcome to LinkEngineering! What are you hoping to receive from or share with the LinkEngineering community? What resources does JPL have to help Los Angeles area schools teach engineering? 1 Answer Reset Sort By Default Lyle Tavernier , Jet Propulsion Laboratory Posted Thursday, August 24, 2017 at 1:04 PM Hi Jackie, thanks! The JPL Education Office provides resources and professional development opportunities for K-12 teachers in the greater Los Angeles area. Below are a few links that I plan to share in the resources section as well (I was having some trouble accessing the share feature when I first signed up). * JPL education site - https://www.jpl.nasa.gov/edu * JPL science and engineering lessons (NGSS and Common Core aligned) - https://www.jpl.nasa.gov/edu/teach/ * JPL Engineering in the classroom - a feature that breaks down each engineering standard in each grade band. It shows how engineers engage in that standard at JPL and links to a lesson connected to the standard and the JPL tie-in. - https://www.jpl.nasa.gov/edu/teach/resources/engineering-in-the-classroom.php * JPL Educator Resource Center - materials and resources available for teachers - https://www.jpl.nasa.gov/edu/educator-resource-center/ * Calendar of events - JPL public lectures and teacher workshops will be posted here - https://www.jpl.nasa.gov/edu/events/ * Teachable Moments blog - highlights recent news and makes classroom connections for teachers - https://www.jpl.nasa.gov/edu/news/column/teachable-moments/ 2 Comments Please Login or Register to post a comment or Like an answer. {{settings.nrChars}}/ {{settings.maxChars}} chars × Submit Cancel Delete Edit {{renderPersonName(comment)}} Posted {{comment.Posted}} {{comment.Content}} {{comment.Content.length}}/ {{settings.maxChars}} chars × Submit Cancel × Notification Message
